The 7th Worldwide Uchinānchu Festival Theme Song Contest Application Guidelines

● Details
In order to welcome Uchinānchu from around the world who will be participating in the festival, we are looking for a theme song that will enliven the festival pre-events and events promoting exchange with the citizens of Okinawa Prefecture.
Please submit a theme song that will fit perfectly with the Worldwide Uchinānchu Festival.
・The length of the song should be no longer than five minutes, the lyrics should be in Japanese, and should not exceed three verses.
・The theme song should be one that makes listeners imagine the Worldwide Uchinānchu Festival and the charm of Okinawa.

● Qualification Requirements There are no restrictions to apply.

● How to Apply
【Applying By Mail (Post)】
・A CD-R with the recorded theme song must be enclosed.
・A sheet of paper (A4 size) with the lyrics must be enclosed.
・The application form with your name, address, occupation (school name), telephone number, e-mail address, and a brief comment about the theme song on a separate sheet of paper (A4 size) must be enclosed.
・Entered works will not be returned.

【Applying By E-mail】
・A MP3 or WMA file (file size: within 7MB) of your song must be attached.
・Data file (txt, doc file, etc.) with the lyrics must be attached.
・Write your name, address, occupation (school name), telephone number, e-mail address, and a brief comment of the theme song on the application form.
・Submissions cannot be made through the use of a file transmission service.

● Deadline for Submissions
August 13, 2021 (Friday) ※Applications must arrive by this date

● Judging and Selection:
The 7th Worldwide Uchinānchu Festival Executive Committee Secretariat will organize a selection committee to select the winner. We plan to announce the winner in late October 2021.

● Award
Grand Prize for Theme Song  
1 Work Award Certificate and Prize of 300,000 yen

● Points of Caution When Applying:
・Only original, unpublished works and originally recorded songs will be accepted.
(Songs sampling other works will not be accepted)
・Entries with music/sound sources that infringe on the copyright or master license of others will not be accepted.
・If the content is offensive to public order and morals, such as defamation of specific individuals or third parties, it will not be reviewed.
・Only songs with lyrics will be judged. (Instrumental music is not eligible for judging)
・All applications are welcome regardless of nationality, gender, performance style, genre, age, if from individuals, or if from groups. However, if you are a minor, please apply with the consent of a parent or guardian.
・The handling of copyrights, etc. related to the selected work will be discussed separately.
・The selected work may be arranged and supplementary lyrics may be written as necessary.
・The selected work will be used for festival-related events and publicity free of charge.
・In the case the selected work is found to violate the application guidelines, have been submitted to other contests/past Worldwide Uchinānchu Festivals, or infringe on copyright/other rights, even if it is after a selection has been made, the selection will be invalidated.
・The Executive Committee bears no responsibility for any accidents or issues that may occur during the delivery process.
・Applicants are responsible for bearing all costs associated with the application process.
