Hosting of the Festival

The 7th Worldwide Uchinanchu Festival is scheduled to be held this year (2022).
The schedule of the festival is as follows:
(1) Festival Eve Parade: Sunday, October 30, 2022
(2) Main Festival: Monday, October 31 to Thursday, November 3, 2022

※The festival will be hosted as planned; it will neither be cancelled nor postponed.
As per previous festivals, people from overseas and other prefectures can participate on-site for this year's festival for the events such as the Festival Eve Parade, Opening Ceremony, and Closing Ceremony/Grand Finale. Event details will be uploaded regularly on the official festival website and other social media (Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter).

Participation from Overseas

The free bus transportation pass is not available this time.
The Urban Monorail One Day Pass Exchange Voucher will be given to the first 1,000 participants, limited to one voucher per person, at the Opening Ceremony reception.

Events

Main events such as the Festival Eve Parade, Opening Ceremony, Welcoming Reception, and Closing Ceremony/Grand Finale are scheduled. Information of the other events will be available on the official festival website and other social media (Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter) once details are confirmed.
We had been accepting applications for the Festival Eve Parade since August 18; however, due to a large number of applications and have reached the capacity, we have ceased the acceptance of applications.

We are accepting applications for the Opening Ceremony and Closing Ceremony/Grand Finale from the URL shown below.

A web page of the municipality events will be added on the official festival website. Please refer to the information and contact the municipality directly for inquiries.
Please submit your display booth plans and any event proposals from the official festival website. The secretariat will contact you individually.

Volunteers

We are planning to recruit general volunteers who will support us during the festival. Vounteers of the previous festival helped us at the reception, parking lots, and guiding at the venues.
Volunteers must be 18 years and above to apply individually; for those 18 years and under may only apply through group participation.
Volunteer applications will be announced around August. Information will be available on the official festival website and other social media (Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter) once the details are confirmed.
We do not require any special skills or standards for interpreter volunteers; however, we plan to ask you to declare the level of your language skills when applying. Information will be available on the official festival website as soon as the details are confirmed.

For the entry requirements from your country of residence to Japan, please obtain the latest updates from the official websites of the Embassy or Consulate General of Japan in your country. For visa applications, please contact the Embassy or Consulate General of Japan in your country directly.
Effective countermeasures will continue to be taken while assessing the infection status so that everyone can participate with peace of mind. In accordance with the event implementation guidelines indicated by the Japanese Government and Okinawa Prefecture, detailed countermeasures for each event will be announced on the official festival website and social media (Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter) as soon as they are confirmed.
